Wordtrotters are word caterpillars from the bug world Wordth with a body made of alphabet bugs known as Letterbugs. Together, the Letterbugs form a life-sustaining word or bugword that provides the energy to keep the Wordtrotters alive.
The Wordtrotters must catch Letterbugs in the correct sequence of a bugword to survive. Captured Letterbugs tag along wherever the Wordtrotters go.
The Wordtrotters also obtain nourishment, knowledge, special skills, and powers by feeding on their staple food, the bugstuff clusters that grow on top of the letter-shaped living hills, the sleepy Alphabet Golems.
