You want to play Wordtrotter free word games? Here’s the first of our series of player guides and video game walkthroughs. And if you sign up, you just might get lucky to get a few video game cheats…but hey, play the game with no tricks first!

Find the Anti-Spell, the one bugword (game word) that will save the bug world Wordth from the curse of the evil witch Grimmar.
Point and click with your mouse to direct the Wordtrotters, Woogly, Weegly, and Whaagly, to catch wandering Letterbugs (alphabet bugs) that form a bugword.
You must beat the clock and catch the bugword in an alphabet-shaped bughood (game stage) to continue playing until you find the Anti-Spell.

Each stage begins in a dark environment. Catching Letterbugs in the correct sequence will gradually light up the bughood and reveal its true color.
If you fail to find the Anti-Spell until the last stage, the whole world will revert to its shadowy environment.

Find the Anti-Spell to restore the full color of the Wordth and lock Grimmar away. You win!

- Choose your character. The Wordtrotter Non-Story Mode lets you play one character for the entire game while the Story Mode allows you to play a different character per stage.
- Have a Clue. Identify your mission. At the beginning of every stage, Def, the Forgetful Wizard, will appear in a game prompt to clue you in on the following:
- BUGWORD CLUE
The definition of the game word. - STORY MODE MISSION
Your task for each game stage. You can only advance to the next stage after fulfilling it.
- BUGWORD CLUE
- Guide your Wordtrotter. Point and click with your mouse on the ground or space where you want your Wordtrotter to go. Wordtrotters can trot horizontally, vertically, and even upside down all over the place.
- Catch a Letterbug. Point and click on a Letterbug to catch it and earn 1,000 points. You can only catch Letterbugs in the right bugword spelling sequence. Once caught, an identical Letterbug will replace it. Captured Letterbugs follow your Wordtrotter wherever it goes.
- Feed your Wordtrotter. Click on the bugstuff clusters on top of the sleepy living hills, the Alphabet Golems, make your Wordtrotter consume them for any of the following items:
- Bonus points
2,000 to 5,000 points - Supertrotter
Grants your Wordtrotter super speed for 10 seconds. - Magnetizer
Grants your Wordtrotter the ability to click on one Letterbug to instantly catch it from a distance. - Vocabug
Dictionary bug that offers bugword clues. - Def, the Forgetful Wizard
Grants both helpful and harmful items. - Bugtrap
The portal that summons a Bugger.
- Bonus points
- Ask a Vocabug. Click on a Vocabug’s dialogue prompt to choose between a synonym and antonym clue. The player bar will display your clue.
- Race against Buggers. Grimmar’s Bugger will gulp down Letterbugs in the correct sequence of the bugword. Then it transforms into a monstrous Spideybug and gobbles up your Wordtrotter. You lose and the game starts on the same round again.
- Play against time. You must catch the bugword and/or accomplish your mission within the three-minute playing time or you will lose and the game will start on the same round again.
- Use power up Items. If your Wordtrotter consumes the bugstuff cluster that summons Def, the Forgetful Wizard, you will get a glowing orb with a question mark, the Orb of Worda. Clicking on it will grant you game items that will either help you win or make your game more difficult:
- Sir Supertrotter
Supertrotter speed times three. - Mother Magnetizer
Magnetize three Letterbugs in a stage. - Petrifier
Makes your Wordtrotter stand on its head for six seconds. - Looooser
Letterbugs lose their alphabet markings for six seconds. - Silly Summoner
Summons a Bugger.
- Sir Supertrotter
- Level up. Catch the bugword, accomplish your mission, and pile up points to move up to the next stage until you find the Anti-Spell.
Hot Tip: Try not to become a Bugger’s lunch!
